I have spent 30 years in ICT, with 26 years focused on cyber security. My work has moved through technical security engineering, consulting, architecture, training, leadership, governance, risk, customer-facing delivery, and increasingly AI security.

The consistent theme is security judgement under real-world constraint. I am interested in the point where architecture, engineering, delivery, risk, leadership, and operational evidence meet.

I currently work in a senior cybersecurity architecture and leadership context, managing a professional services delivery team specialised in security architecture and engineering. The work requires the mix I enjoy most: technical depth, customer trust, clear communication, mentoring, and the ability to turn strategy into delivered outcomes.

Earlier roles took me through consulting, security engineering, systems integration, training, and hands-on implementation across multiple countries and industries. That breadth matters. Security architecture is rarely just a technology decision; it is usually a negotiation between risk, people, budget, process, urgency, legacy constraints, cultural context, and the reality of operations.

Career Shape

My background includes security specialist and trainer work, security consulting, senior security engineering, security architecture, professional-services leadership, and team management. I have worked across countries, industries, customers, and complex technology environments.

That variety matters. It means I have seen how the same control can look obvious in a framework, messy in a design workshop, expensive in a programme plan, and fragile in operations.

Leadership

I have led and managed security architects and engineers, supported delivery teams, mentored specialists, and worked with customers and stakeholders across executive and technical levels.

Leadership, for me, is not about standing above the work. It is about making the work clearer: better decisions, stronger teams, cleaner accountability, more honest trade-offs, and outcomes that survive pressure.

Technical And Architecture Work

My technical interests include cyber security, network and cloud architecture, identity, visibility, threat detection, threat modelling, threat hunting, secure automation, Python, secure development, and AI security.

I have designed, reviewed, implemented, and advised on security architectures and security services in complex environments. I am comfortable moving between high-level strategy, detailed technical discussion, delivery sequencing, and practical evidence.

AI Security

AI is now a primary professional focus. I care about secure AI adoption, model and data risk, governance, guardrails, integration, and evidence. I also build with AI, which helps keep the security thinking grounded in practical reality rather than abstract policy.

The AI publishing assistant and related automation belong in the Workbench area of this site. They show that I build with AI carefully, but the headline is broader: cyber security expertise, AI security, architecture discipline, leadership, and delivery.

Builder Thread

I am not a web developer by job title, but I build. This site, my tooling, and my AI/security experiments are part of how I learn and test ideas. That matters professionally because AI security and secure automation are easier to reason about when you have built enough of the machinery to know where it bends, leaks, fails, and surprises you.

What This Site Is For

This site is the permanent home for my best public thinking. LinkedIn, X, and Bluesky may carry shorter interpretations and conversations, but the website should remain the canonical source.
